The 3.6 GHz RIS is a modular, linearly polarized Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface designed for targeted control of electromagnetic wave propagation in the 3 GHz frequency range — particularly for private 5G campus networks as well as research and development environments.
It enables controlled optimization of radio coverage, signal quality and multipath propagation in real-world operational settings — without active amplification or modification of existing communication standards.
- Modular RIS platform for the 3.6 GHz band (5G n78)
- Individually controllable unit cells for radio channel optimization
- Suitable for laboratory setups, testbeds and real-world field trials

For controlling the RIS modules, modular controller units with USB or PoE interfaces are available. This enables straightforward integration into existing IT and campus network infrastructures.
💡 In Brief:
The 3.6 GHz RIS is a flexible, modular and expandable system for experimental and application-oriented investigations of radio channels in the 3 GHz band — ranging from communication research to deployment in private 5G campus networks.
Typical Applications
- Indoor campus networks (manufacturing, logistics, laboratories)
- NLOS and shadowing scenarios
- Field tests and pilot deployments in private 5G networks
Available 3.6 GHz RIS Variants
For the 3 GHz frequency range, we currently offer two modular 3.6 GHz RIS variants, differing in phase resolution and therefore in the granularity of radio channel control.
- RIS-3Mk1-4×4-3 – Modular RIS-Modul (24 × 18 cm) with 8 phase states (45° steps) and 16 individually switchable elements (unit cells)
- RIS-3Mk1-4×4-1 – Modular RIS-Modul (24 × 18 cm) mit 2 phase states (0°/ 180°) and 16 individually switchable elements (unit cells)
